The business is owned and managed by Nicki Brockhurst and Amanda Bentley.  Both worked at KPMG for several years before building up the Brockhurst Davies business over the last twenty years.  They have extensive technical knowledge and a wealth of experience in accountancy and taxation work.  They are supported by qualified staff with a range of expertise and skills.

The business started in 1996 and has grown steadily since then, with a staff base of 12 taking the firm forwards. This growth has been achieved almost entirely from recommendations.
We boast a portfolio of over 800 clients; in engineering, information technology, health, leisure, retail, service and property investment sectors. We deal with Sports Governing Bodies, Charities, Companies, Partnerships, Sole traders, Individuals, Pension funds and Trusts. In addition we also provide specialist taxation advice and services to accountants who require bolt on tax expertise. We moved to our current offices in 2006, and have the capacity and professional staff base to progress the business even further in the future.


Nicki qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Grant Thornton before moving to KPMG to become a chartered Tax Adviser in 1989.  She started the business in 1996.  Nicki has worked throughout her career with family businesses and has extensive experience in providing commercial accounting and taxation advice to those businesses and their owners.




Amanda qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1994 and has worked for Coopers and Lybrand in Leicester and KPMG in Nottingham. She joined Brockhurst Davies in 2000. Amanda has an excellent range of experience covering tax, accountancy and audit, dealing with clients primarily in the owner managed business sector. Her commercial experience and depth of technical knowledge supports the high quality of service we provide.




Rachelle, a member of our Senior Management Team, joined in October 2013 having qualified in 2003 as a Certified Accountant and worked at Deloitte and Duncan & Toplis prior to joining Brockhurst Davies. She has experience dealing with the accounts and tax issues, including payroll and VAT, for owner managed businesses of varying sizes. In addition she deals with personal and trust tax related matters and efficient remuneration planning opportunities.



Tamzin, a member of our Senior Management Team, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2008 training with Bentley Jennison and KPMG before working in industry in technical roles. She joined in November 2013 and has since gained additional tax experience and qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor. She has worked with businesses ranging from sole traders to listed companies and the breadth of her previous roles brings strong technical knowledge and experience to the team.



Phil, a member of our Senior Management Team, qualified as a Certified Accountant in 2003, worked for Tenon and Baker Tilly in Nottingham before joining Brockhurst Davies in June 2015. Phil has primarily dealt with owner managed businesses in that time, forming first rate working relationships with numerous clients providing an all-round business advice support service. In addition to annual compliance he also specialises in management accounts and cash flow forecasts.



Jo, a member of our Senior Management Team, joined in January 2019 having qualified as a Certified Accountant in 2000. She worked for several accounting practices including Grant Thornton and Smith Cooper before working in industry in hands on commercial finance roles. Jo has many years’ experience in management accounting, statutory reporting, forecasting and general compliance work.



Katie joined in June 2015 having gained general accounting experience working at Belsoft Strategic Accounting Limited. Now a Manager, she is AAT qualified, has studied ATT and has also been Xero certified for several years. Katie has extensive knowledge of many accounting and payroll packages providing support and training to clients as well as to staff. She has a portfolio of clients for whom she works on management accounts, year-end accounts and tax compliance and general tax work.



Abi joined in 2018 and is an Accounts Senior. She is AAT qualified, having trained at Newby Castleman. She has experience of various accounting soft-wares including IRIS, Xero and Sage providing client support on bookkeeping. She will also be assisting on payroll, company accounts, business and personal tax return preparation and other general accounting matters.



Donna joined in 2019 as an Accounts Senior from DK Rumsby & Co, where she attained her AAT qualifications. She has vast bookkeeping and management accounts experience using software such as Iris, Sage, Xero and KashFlow and will also be assisting with year-end accounts, payroll and tax returns.



Suzanne joined in 2010 and is our office manager. She has a wide range of experience in all aspects of administration, secretarial and personal assistant expertise gained in a variety of companies.
